Amira exists so you can write down the things you can't say out loud. That only works if you can trust where those words go — so this page is written to be read, not skimmed past.

The short version

• Your entries are private. There is no feed, no followers, no public profile.
• No ads, no ad trackers, no selling or sharing your data for advertising. Ever.
• Location is optional and permission-based. We reduce it to an approximate area before it leaves your device.
• You can export everything, and delete everything, in one place: your Profile.

What you share with Amira

Your birth details (date, and optionally time and place), a name or nickname if you give one, the journal entries you write or speak, your conversations with Amira, questions you ask about a connection, and anything you send through the feedback box.

When you choose a suggested birthplace, we store its city label, approximate city coordinates, country code, and timezone with your private profile so the app can calculate Moon and Rising signs. Place suggestions are retrieved from Open-Meteo as you type. These birth coordinates describe a city, not your current location, and are included in export and Delete everything.

Where it lives

Your data is stored on your own device, and also in our database (hosted on Supabase) so it can survive a lost phone and follow you across devices when you sign in. Voice memos are kept in a private storage bucket — playback works only through short-lived signed links. Readings you ask Amira to speak are audio of your own reading, so they are kept exactly the same way: private, signed links only, never public. Everything is keyed to you alone.

How readings happen

To write your reading or reply in chat, your words are sent over encrypted connections to the AI service that generates Amira's response, and used for that purpose. This happens on our servers — AI credentials never live in your browser.

How memory works

After enough new entries or conversation, Amira may write herself a short private summary — people you have mentioned, situations left unresolved, patterns that keep recurring, stable facts, and what has changed lately. It lets a later reading or reply understand the longer arc of your life without sending your whole history every time.

It is derived from your own words, and it is yours: you can read exactly what it says in Profile, it is included in your export, and you can clear it on its own or with Delete everything. Clearing it deletes the summary and stops Amira from building a new one — everywhere you are signed in, not just on the device you tapped it from — until you turn memory back on. Your original entries and conversations are untouched either way.

Optional location context

If you choose “Use my location,” your browser or operating system asks permission. Your device may determine a precise position, but Amira rounds it to an area roughly 11 km across before saving or sending it. The approximate coordinates and timezone may be sent to our server, the weather service, and the AI service as current context for local weather, time, and season. We keep this coarse preference on your device; it is removed by Delete everything. Journal entries store the weather at posting time, not your coordinates, so they do not form a location trail.

If you do not grant permission, weather-aware touches may still use the approximate, city-level area of your network connection. If you enable the morning note, we keep a city-rounded coordinate with your notification subscription so the note can be weather-aware; it is deleted with everything else.

What we never do

• No advertising SDKs or social-media pixels in the app.
• We never sell your data, and never use your journal for ad targeting.
• Share cards never contain your actual words — only an abstracted, cosmic version that you choose to share.

Analytics

We count events like "an entry was created" to understand whether Amira is useful. These events never include the content of what you wrote.

Your controls

In Profile you can export everything Amira knows about you as a file, or delete everything — entries, voice memos, readings (including any Amira spoke aloud), conversations, derived memory, notification subscriptions, and your account — permanently, in one tap.

Children

Amira is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

A note on wellbeing

Amira is for entertainment and self-reflection — she can't replace real support from real people. If you're going through something heavy, in the US you can call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), free and confidential, any time.
